Welcome

At BHC we believe that students feel more confident in a motivated, nurturing, and structured environment of small classes in which personal attention is the norm. Each student is encouraged to achieve their best, and the general outcome is that their results improve. There are no "invisible students" at BHC and we provide individual attention to both top candidates as well as the less academically inclined in such a way that students achieve their best. Regular assessment and reporting allow performance to be monitored and problems to be quickly addressed.

Worthwhile Subject Choice

Students follow the curriculum of the Western Cape Education Department. Where possible students take subjects they enjoy and will benefit from.

Four compulsory subjects are required:

  • Two languages (English, Afrikaans, or isiXhosa)

  • Life Orientation

These are taken together with three choice subjects. The following are possible options:

Accounting, Business Studies, Computer Applications Technology, Design, Dramatic Arts, Economics, Geography, History, Life Science, Physical Science, Tourism and Visual Art.

Who will benefit from BHC?

  • Have outgrown or feel stifled at their present schools
  • Desire a more mature environment in which people are respected for who they are.
  • May not be achieving their full academic potential.
